Third Thursday 8/20 - Third in Summer Concert Series

13 August 2015 by Matt Pensworth

OK folks, we got our groove on now.  After two of these events, we know what to expect.  GREAT music, art, beer and good times.  At the first event we had about 300 people.  At the second, 500 people!  Think we can beat that for this this event?  Join us Thursday August 20th at 6PM and find out!

Our artist this month is Stephanie Brockway: ”Carved Wood Curiosities. Primitive. Elevating the forgotten, into an heirloom. One odd bit at a time.” Right up our alley! We’re thrilled to have another 3D artist in the showroom, now that we have enough space to do the work justice. The opening starts at 6 PM.

At 7 PM, the Git Rights Gospel Review will take the Salvage Works stage. We’re so happy to host Kenton’s own “gospel” group.  Read on! Culture Mob writes “The Git Rights Gospel Revue provide a heavenly mix of classic gospel, country, blue grass and everything in between. Make no mistake however, a Git Rights show is anything but old time religion. Lead Git Right Michael Sean Cummins puts it best when he says: “We sing about Jesus while drinking whiskey and cussing. ” We’ll take it!

The after party band is The Baron Ward, rock duo.

Our featured beer this month is from Backwoods Brewing, the cider is from Cider Riot.  Urban German will be set up selling brats and theParkside Pub will be selling plates too.

Upping the ante on these summer Third Thursdays has been great but we could NOT do it without help.  Thanks go out to the following fine folks!

Northwood Apartments, has created a gorgeous new housing in Kenton. Looking to move here? Check out the Salvage Works furniture in their new lobby!  The open house is Sunday 8/23, 1 – 4 PM. 8300 N. Interstate.

Umpqua Bank on Lombard.  We’ve been with Umpqua since we opened and are so pleased to have the kind folks at the local branch partner with us on this concert series.  Thanks for pitching in!

Oregon Home Magazine has long been an advocate of cool design and construction in Oregon.  The Oregon Home folks will be here too, giving out magazines and treats!

Lastly, thanks to She Rock Sound for making us all sound pro and to Lisa Lepine Promotions for pulling it all together.

See you all August 20th!
