Third Thursday 7/16 - Second in Summer Series

25 June 2015 by Matt Pensworth

Whew - the first of our concert series was a huge hit! We had great art, great music and great beer.  As we celebrate five years this summer, we're putting on a four month long summer concert series.  July is number two.   Please join us for an incredible evening of local art and music, food carts, fantastic beer, cider and wine on Thursday July 16th. We're pleased to be partnering with PQ Monthly who is hosting their monthly press party here then as well! So instead of our usual start time of 6 PM, we're starting at 5 PM with DJ Sunday Smith in the showroom. abstract Our artist this month is David Lynch of Think Tank Studios. David's show "1 Man Army" will be a pop art extravaganza.  David's playful paintings and sculptures are an inspiration for skater kids and collectors alike.  David and his partner Scott have been long time supporters of Salvage Works and we are so pleased to have David's work here for our Third Thursday show in July. GH-Stick-Figure-300x249 At 7 PM, the band Gerle Haggard takes the salvage stage.  The all girl, all Merle tribute band will rock it until 9:00 or so when DJ Sunday Smith will spin the dance tunes into the evening. Our beer sponsor this month is Hopworks Urban Brewery and our friends at Cider Riot are providing more thirst quenching drink. We'll have food carts here from Urban German and Cason's Fine Meats so bring your appetites! Upping the ante on these summer Third Thursdays has been great but we could NOT do it without help.  Thanks go out to the following fine folks! Steve Strode with ReMax realty is the PQ Monthly sponsor this month and has made our partnership possible.  Thank you Steve! PQ Monthly, Portland's online and print queer paper is the newest addition to the Salvage Works family.  Rock on EQUALITY. Umpqua Bank on Lombard.  We've been with Umpqua since we opened and are so pleased to have the kind folks at the local branch partner with us on this concert series.  Thanks for pitching in! Northwood Apartments, has created a gorgeous new space in Kenton. They are planning on tricking out the lobby with some beautiful Salvage Works furniture. Retail space and apartments will be available soon! Oregon Home Magazine has long been an advocate of cool design and construction in Oregon.  The Oregon Home folks will be here too, giving out magazines and treats! Lastly, thanks to She Rock Sound for making us all sound pro and to Lisa Lepine Promotions for pulling it all together. See you all July 16th!
