Grand Re-Opening Party Thurs June 18th!
10 June 2015 by Matt Pensworth
We want to say thank you friends and family. We made it! We are celebrating five years, our re-opening in our new space and the kick off of our expanded four month long summer concert series all in one night! Third Thursdays just got even better! Please join us for an incredible evening of local art and music, grilled burgers and dogs, fantastic beer and wine. Thursday June 18th. Event starts at 6, music at 7 PM.
Five years ago, our first featured artist was our good friend Janet Julian
. She was one of Salvage Works' first booster. It seems fitting for her to be our featured artist for our five year anniversary. Janet's whimsical folk art is a perfect fit for the Salvage Works crowd. If fact, if you don't have a Janet Julian, you need to get one this month!
We're excited to have Alexa Wiley and the Wilderness
on our newly constructed salvage stage with professional sound (!) by She Rock Sound. Alexa is celebrating a new, highly acclaimed album produced by Gregg Williams (Sheryl Crow, Wilco). Teaming up with some of Portland's best musicians, Alexa brings her feral folk rock to help us ring in the Summer Concert Series. The after party band is the thrasher folk duo, Crow Kane. One of the great additions to Kenton this year is the Umpqua Bank
on Lombard. We've been with Umpqua since we opened and are so pleased to have the kind folks at the local branch partner with us on this concert series. Thanks for pitching in! Our new neighbor, Northwood Apartments
, has created a gorgeous new space in Kenton. They are planning on tricking out the lobby with some beautiful Salvage Works furniture. Retail space and apartments will be available soon! Always wanted to live in downtown Kenton? Us too. The Northwoods folks will be here to show off their new space! Oregon Home Magazine
has long been an advocate of cool design and construction in Oregon. Long live salvage. The Oregon Home folks will be here too, enjoying the evening and meeting the Salvage Works crowd. Give them a warm welcome! Little Dipper Brewing (from Battle Ground's Backwoods Brewing
) is providing the beer - bless them. Who knew Argyle Winery
is named after our new street - Argyle?? Of course, they got us covered on vino - more thanks! Thanks also Lisa Lepine Promotions for helping us make this concert series super fun. So please join us in a four month long celebration of community, good times and the ever present fire pit.
