Job Title: Retail Assistant

Reports to: Retail Manager

Position Summary:

The retail assistant members provide customer service and manage material shopability, as well as yard and inventory maintenance.  Working directly for the Retail Manager, the retail staff is responsible for the keeping the yard and store well organized and tidy. Assisting customers in product selection, pricing, loading and unloading is an important element of this position.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Customer service

    • Assist customers in accessing and selecting material

    • Ring up customer sales

    • Load material into customer vehicles

    • Answer phone

    • Daily and monthly cash register close out if needed

  • Material shopability

    • Rack and store material to keep it dry and easy to access

    • Stock, organize and clean new acquisitions

    • Create and maintain functional price boards

    • Tidy and clean as needed

  • Assist with the intake (unload, count, denail) of new inventory and acquisitions

  • Other tasks or projects as requested by Retail Manager or Owner

Skills, Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Customer service skills.

  • Basic math skills.

  • Forklift operator’s certification a plus.

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.

  • Valid Oregon driver’s license.

Supervisory Responsibility and Key Relationships:

  • No supervisory responsibilities.

  • Reports to Retail Manager.

  • Full time hourly, non-exempt.
