This month (Jan 19-Feb 14) we are showing artwork by Anthony Paul Fox – a friend, neighbor and working artist who creates enticing images on salvaged boards using stencils and spray paint.

Next month (Feb 14-Mar 13) we feature “Surf Food” original ocean art by Andrew Rodman and a special performance of “Wet Dream” by Thringst that blends live music and aquatic drama into a Theater of the Submerged.

Join us for Evan Peterson’s opening art reception and a group show of gifts for the holidays made from reclaimed wood and vintage odds & ends.

About the artist:
Evan Peterson hails from Newport Bay where he is actively involved with the Oregon Coast artistic community. He creates images on salvaged windows – kind of like tattooing on glass, everthing is in reverse…

He starts with detail & outlines first using with acrylics, sharpies and paint pens. Then Evan adds layer upon layer of colors – blended with his fingers, cloths and cotton to work together the paint.

The confetti backgrounds are made using dried paint flakes, adhered with epoxy and mediums. Painting on glass allows Evan to subtract painted areas with razor blades and cloths and “clean the canvas.”

The October/Halloween Edition is happening this Thursday, October 20th in Downtown Kenton: Kids’ Trick or Treating, Cider, Pies, Crafts & Costumes – It will be a Treat for Everyone!

Featuring: Art, a Puppet Show, and Shoe Shines to boot at Salvage Works

We’ll have a puppet show with live music by Paper Eclipse, the unveiling of a special showcase highlighting the “Ingenuity of Others,” as well as art by Matt Potter and Virginia Marting.
Installations run through November 15th.

Neighboring Kenton businesses will be open late from 5-8pm for trick or treating. There will be special events at many Kenton businesses on Thursday night (see events page for more info).
