Game Show November 17 – December 15, 2011

A group show of puzzles and toys made from reclaimed wood plus unique art reinterpretations of vintage games, featuring:
Quilt puzzles handcrafted by Karen and Kevin Richmond – a mother and son team. Each puzzle lets you create a multitude of block patterns from the magnetized pieces. Results can be hung on the wall as art and continuously recreated into new patterns.
Board game bags created from second-hand game boards by Suzanne Keolker of Mugwump. Each bag has been coated so they are protected in any weather. Sturdy webbing handles and vinyl sides compliment colors in the game.

Paintings by Benjamin Alexander Clark
Featured Artist August 18th-September 10th, 2011
You may have noticed the beautiful paintings on boards and doors scattered throughout Salvage Works’ yard and shop.
You may have asked yourself or us, “Who painted them?”
Easy answer: our buddy Benjamin Alexander Clark!
Yes, the same one who shares shop space at Salvage Works and creates the bee boxes and some of the furniture also seen around the yard.

Brent Wear
Featured Artist June 2011
Brent is a painter and illustrator who has been working and showing in the Pacific Northwest for the past decade. He is a native of Kansas City, MO, and moved to Portland in 1997 to pursue painting.
Most noticed for his paintings of round, toy like birds, Brent also paints steam trains, helicopters, cupcakes, blackbirds, and most recently abstract compositions. He paints on a variety of surfaces, including canvas and reclaimed wood. His work combines the abstract and representational into an absurd, storybook narrative. In his free time he likes to ride his bike and bird watch. He is also very fond of cats and trains.
